Committed to providing therapies that detoxify the system and support the whole body on its path towards health.

Vela Bodywork was born from the idea that the body, in its movement towards health, resembles light — it changes according to what is along its path. Vela’s mission is to provide a clearing in the path, by using a medley of therapies that focus on detoxification, chronic pain, trauma and mind-body restoration.

Rebecca Yawman, Owner/RN, LMT

Rebecca Yawman RN, LMT, grew up in southern California and moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend the University of Oregon, where she earned a BS in Psychology. Her interest in health led her to Seattle’s Cortiva Institute, where she studied Massage Therapy and became particularly drawn to the role the nervous system plays in maintaining balance and health in the body. Craniosacral therapy took root as a passion because of its ability to address deeply seated patterns, as well as its positive effects on patient’s rehabilitation from trauma. After graduating from Cortiva’s Professional Massage Therapy program in 2012, Rebecca continued her Craniosacral studies at Bastyr University. She uses this therapy as an integral way to release the body and mind’s chronic patterns and to facilitate healing after acute traumas. In 2018 Rebecca discovered Frequency Specific Microcurrent and was astounded at how effective this modality was for those experiencing chronic pain. She immediately incorporated FSM into every session and has seen significant increases in injury recovery, scar tissue mobilization, decreased stress and anxiety and overall wellness. Rebecca currently works as an RN and is working towards her Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner. She loves supporting clients through bodywork and continues to offer sessions.

Vela Bodywork is committed to providing therapies that support the whole body in its path towards health. Rebecca uses a specialized blend of therapies to meet your body where it’s at. Depending on your needs, she incorporates Frequency Specific Microcurrent, Craniosacral Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage.
